Anemia
What Causes It?
- When the Doshas are aggravated, and Pitta is mostly exaggerated, Pitta in the heart is forced into the arteries and veins that connect to the heart.
- Vata is responsible for Pitta moving and spreading throughout the body.
- Pitta then vitiates Kapha, causing the skin, blood, and muscles to turn yellowish white (the most common color), deep yellow, or green.
- There are five types of anemia: Vata, Pitta, Kapha, Tridosha, and one caused by eating mud.
Remedies for Anemia
- Vata: Organic yogurt, boiled milk, sesame oil, and ghee. Steamed vegetables.
- Pitta: Salads, sprouts, green leafy vegetables, dandelion leaf, and raspberry leaf. Katuka, barberry, chirayata, aloe, bhuamalaki.
- Kapha: Hot spices like cinnamon, turmeric, trikatu and haritaki.
Blood Pressure
What Causes it?
- Vata can cause excessive mental stress (worry, anxiety, and tension).
- Pitta can cause hormonal imbalances (e.g., thyroid, adrenal, and reproductive hormones).
- Kapha can cause obstructions in the blood or urinary channels, as well as kidney problems.
Remedies for Blood Pressure
- General: Arjuna is believed to strengthen the heart, especially if it has a weak pulse.
- Vata: Gotu kola, garlic, and a vata-reducing diet and lifestyle are considered brain tonics and may help in this condition.
- Pitta: Aloe Vera gel, Pitta-reducing herbs such as shatavari, manjishtha, musta, triphala, bala, gotu kola, and balancing diet and lifestyle.
- Kapha: Myrrh, trikatu, arjuna, hawthorn berries, diuretics like gokshura, and a kapha-lowering diet and lifestyle are all recommended.
